So now I'm getting prodded in my comments to post more often. Or at all. So here I am posting. A lot of factors have contributed to my absence from the blog, procrastination being not the least of them. (In fact, procrastination is why I'm here now. I have one last paper to write for my last final tomorrow, and I'm feeling like a spoiled 6 year old, stamping my foot, and saying, "I don't wanna!") But, I gotta. At least I have to produce something to hand in tomorrow, or I won't be able to live with myself. I have even gone to Blackboard and calculated my grade in this class thus far, and what the impact would be if I turned in no paper at all, and it seems that I would still get a low B, if my calculations are correct. And I'd be OK with that. I just don't have the balls to look at my professor and say, "Sorry, I just wasn't feeling this last one."

There's also a presentation, which is designed and in the can. I can give the presentation with no problem. I'm just over the whole paper-writing thing, especially since it's a class that I consider redundant in any case. It's Art Criticism, and is basically an art history class with an English composition class thrown in for good measure. I feel that we've learned nothing in this class that was not already covered in my previous 4 art history classes, so why bother? Anyway, enough ranting, I suppose...

The big reason that I wanted to write is to let everyone know about my graduation, scheduled for Saturday, December 15th, at 3:00 PM Eastern Time. The reason that I'm so specific about the time is that, if you wish to watch me graduate (and really, who doesn't want to see that), the university is going to be streaming the ceremony on the internets! You can go to www.eku.edu on Saturday and there will be a link to a "live Windows Media stream." Unfortunately, you can only get the stream on a Windows Media Player 9 or later. Anyway, if anyone is interested, give it a shot...

The other big reason I haven't written in a while is that I've been sick.like.dog since Thanksgiving. My respiratory system is in full revolt, even after the onslaught of the Z-Pack and various OTC meds to make it behave. I haven't felt much like doing anything...extracurricular, except just to lay about like a lump. One of my professors calls it a "stress cold", and she could be right. I'm kinda hoping so, since hopefully the stress will be over in a couple of days and I can get well. Oh, yeah, btw--would anyone like to hire me? I haven't really been doing much in the arena of looking for the job in the field, either. I hope to get to that in the next couple of days as well. Well, I guess we'll just see about that stress thing...

Thanks, John! I know I'm being all "whinywhinywhiny", but hey, that's what this internet thingy is for, right? And by my calculations, 3PM my time is about 8PM your time. Shouldn't you be at the pub that time of a Saturday night? :)

To whoever is watching the streaming gradutation: when you hear Debi's name called (and our other friend Andrea Jasper, for that matter) and you hear the God-awfulest hootin' and hollerin', that would be me and our friend Erica. Hoot and holler with us!

Congratulations, Debi!!
