I know that, according to the date on the poster, I'm a day late with this, but since today is the "observed" date, I wanted to go on and write a little something. I've been called a "military brat" by one of my favorite professors. It's meant in a good way, and I take it that way. I never thought that I was one, since that epithet implies (to me) that I grew up traveling from base to base. I didn't. My dad's service ended before he married my mom. But, Dad was in the Air Force, and my brother was in the Army, as was my ex (with whom I did live on base for nearly a year). All of my uncles served in Vietnam, and I do have LOTS of friends who either have served or are serving in the military. Frankly, I love to see a man in uniform. :) I have on many occasions walked up to someone in the military and thanked them for their service. It makes me tear up almost every time. So, yes, I am a proud supporter of those who choose to put their lives on the line (or at the least, on hold) to protect our freedoms. Thank you to all who have served, both past and present, and God bless you all.
