Hello, all! Here I am, in merry olde England, blogging on New Year's Eve. How cool is that?! It's a bit before 11PM here, and I'm in my "travel buddy", Emily's, room, using her laptop. We've been so busy since we got here on Wednesday that I haven't had a chance to find an internet cafe to blog. We've been to the British Museum and several other museums, and yesterday we went to Canterbury and Dover. I got to say the Lord's Prayer in Canterbury Cathedral! In Dover, we went down into the secret tunnels used during WWII. I must tell one cute story about our time in Dover Castle. Just as we were leaving, a big rain storm came up, so we were hurrying to get to the bus. On our way down to the bus, a woman with two small boys were coming up to visit the castle. The boys were about 4 and 7 years old. The 4 year old had a foam rubber sword and was charging up the path to the castle as if he were attacking it. I got into "position" with my imaginary sword and we traded a few "blows", then I pretended to have been mortally wounded by him. He thought this was great fun. Then the older boy, who was wearing his very proper little suit, came up me and said, "Hello, my name is the Doctor." I said, "Well, hello, Doctor, my name is Debi." The mother then told the boy to ask me where I was from, at which time I told him I was from America. He said, "Oh, that's a planet that's disappearing." The mother and I laughed and I said, "Oh, a political hack!" He was so cute!

In a couple of days, we'll be going to Stonehenge and Bath, and later to Stratford and Warwick Castle. Of course, there are all the other museums and a couple of plays. Spamalot is playing here, and Emily's roommate and her classmates are going to see it tomorrow. I wanted to try to go on my own to see it, but it's not looking good for finding a ticket in my price range. We saw Much Ado About Nothing the other night and it was fantastic. We plan to see Coram Boy, which I know nothing about, and Evita before we leave, and there are lots of other activities planned as well.

Well, I should get off here and start the countdown to the New Year. Cheers, all!
