Here I am, at EKU, after my first day of classes for the new semester. I still don't really have a handle on things just yet, insofar as trying to gauge how difficult (or not) my classes are going to be. I got a little bit of my age being thrust upon me, as I found out that the child of a friend of mine is in my Graphic Design class. The last time I saw him, he was just getting ready to start high school. Now he's 6'8" and on the EKU basketball team. Woah...
Getting up early enough to be on the road at 6:30 in order to be on campus and in class by 8:00 is a bit of a challenge, too. I think I can get used to it--I guess I'll have to, huh? It's been fun seeing all the kids from classes last year again. Alan was right when he told me that the art department is really insular--a lot of my classmates are the same ones I had classes with last year. That's kind of comforting, in a way. I don't have to go through the process of getting to know a whole new bunch of people each year. Not that I mind that, exactly, but it's nice not to have to...
Anyway, I just wanted to write a little something from campus between classes. I sure wish there was time for a nap...
