I find the most...um...interesting sites while checking my counter stats. While looking through a Google list from a search that ended up at my place looking for the Sheryl Crow lyrics I posted last week, I found a site called (you're not going to believe this): yourgoingtohell.com! Not, you will notice, you'regoingtohell.com. Spelling and grammar appear to be optional for the ultra-conservative, fundamentalist religious whacko. It has all sorts of places for different people to click, depending on the reason that "your going to hell", from homosexuals to "whoremongers" (etymologically speaking, that would be your pimps, I guess) to Mormons, and so on. There's a truly ugly picture of the Devil, designed to scare visitors into giving up their evil ways, I suppose. What put this site over the top for me, though, is the musical accompaniment to all this showing of the love of God. It's a cheesy, Mario Brothers-sounding version of that Led Zeppelin song (which title I can't remember)--the one that goes, "hey, hey, mama, 'way you shake that thing, gonna make me sweat, gonna make me sing". You know the one I'm talking about. The whole thing would be hilarious if it weren't for the sinking feeling in the pit of my stomach that these people are deadly serious.
