Yesterday, on my way out the door, I stopped at the mailbox. Inside was a letter from the Lexington Clinic, where I go for my endocrinologist visits. I had been about a week and a half ago and this was the results of my latest blood workups for the Graves' Disease. My levels were "normal", as they always have been (because that's what the meds are for, to keep me "normal"). BUT, down in the comments section of the form was a nice bonus: "You can stop PTU and repeat thyroid levels in 3 weeks." I get to stop taking my medication! Hooray!!! I still have to go back in three weeks to make sure I'm good and cured, but that's OK. Major step forward! I'm hoping that this is the beginning of the end for the Graves' Disease thing and I can focus on getting back into shape in the New Year. We were trying to figure out last night at the Creeches' Christmas party exactly how long I've been dealing with this. I just looked it up on my archives, and I started taking the medication in October of 2001, so it's been a little over two years.
