This morning I got a "two-fer" in my e-mail inbox--two CQOD quotes in one day. They're both good ones, so I thought I'd post them both here.
"Every man hath greater assurance that God is good and just than he can have of any subtle speculations about predestination and the decrees of God." ~John Tillotson (1630-1694)
"He who desires to become a spiritual man must not be ever taking note of others, and above all of their sins, lest he fall into wrath and bitterness, and a judging spirit towards his neighbors." ~John Tauler (ca. 1300-1361), Sermons
I'm currently reading the newsletter of The Little Portion Hermitage, John Michael Talbot's organization. I get it twice a year, and there's always something good in there. In the October 2003 issue, JMT has an article entitled, "Factions Within the Church". In it, he's speaking mainly of factions within the Catholic church, but the points can be applied to the Church as a whole. I plan to excerpt it, but since it's not on the website yet, it will mean typing it all in myself rather than cutting and pasting, like I normally do with these things. It's worth the wait, though, I promise.
