So many things I want to catch up on.... I guess the most uplifting thing to tell is that I think I helped a homeless guy find a job this weekend. It was totally a God moment. I went down with Rachel to the Woodland Arts Fair, now (distressingly) known as the First Security Woodland Arts Fair, but that's another story. While we were there, we ran into Matt, his roommate, and a guy I hadn't met. Everyone was introduced, and the guy mentioned that he was looking for work and that he was a "finish carpenter". I happened to be acquaintances with the owner of one of the booths at the fair who owns an architectural salvage company. So, I said to Matt and his roommate, when you get to this booth, make sure that she and he talk. That's all I said. I think I had a vague idea that she might know someone who needed a carpenter and could direct him to a good lead. Long story short, we all ended up meeting at Matt's new 2nd workplace, Common Grounds, for coffee. When I came in, the guy shook my hand and told me that the owner of the booth had hired him herself, at $12/hour. How cool is that!
