Man, this has been some week so far! We had been told last week that we would definitely have the 3-day weekend off, so of course we all planned things. (My plans include mops, vacuums, and washing machines, but hey...) In any case, the VP of our division, whose office is in our location, came around yesterday afternoon and said that since we hadn't met our quota, we were only going to have Sunday off this weekend. As you can imagine, revolt ensued and we reminded him of the fact that our manager had said definitely, blah, blah, blah. Of course, after she said this, she went off to have some sort of surgery and had emailed him from her hospital bed to tell him that she had not in fact said anything of the sort! Anyway, long story short, he contacted her again, and now we definitely (yeah, right) have Sunday and Monday off, and Saturday if we meet our quota by the end of the day Friday. In other words, we won't know for sure until Friday PM if we have to come in the next day. Great news for those who were actually doing something fun for Labor Day! I think my plans for the weekend may have just changed to include the computer and my resume. We have worked like dogs for 8 months, and this is the thanks we get. I'm still a little worked up, can you tell? So, anyway, in an effort to make sure we meet our quota, I've been working 11 and 12 hours a day the last couple of days instead of the "usual" 10. All of this is by way of a lame explanation of why I haven't posted in almost a week. I want to expand a little on my last post, but I think I'll wait until I'm in a better frame of mind. If it crosses your mind, prayers for forebearance, patience, and all that kind of stuff are appreciated. :^)

On a lighter note, I must share with you an email that Sheri of The Bob & Sheri Show read on the air the other day. I'll have to paraphrase since it's not printed on the website:

"My husband bought me a mood ring the other day, because he says I have terrible mood swings and he wants to be able to tell what kind of mood I'm in. It's working great so far. When I'm in a good mood, it's this lovely green color. When I'm in a bad mood, it leaves this nasty red mark right in the middle of his forehead."

Hee hee!
