I've got good news and bad news...

First the bad news: I did something to my sciatic nerve again this morning and have been walking like Walter Brennan (from "The Real McCoys") all day. I have no idea what caused this, much like last time. All I did was get out of the shower and boom! there it went. The Killian's cure worked for a while, but that's no good for a long term solution. Hopefully a good night's sleep will take care of it.

Now the good news: I got a small raise today, quite unexpectedly. I had been unhappy with my pay scale for a while now, because the type of claim I process most often is very labor-intensive, requiring a lot of research, and I get paid per claim processed. So I wrote a note to my supervisor last night before I left, asking her to take into consideration the fact that the claims I have been getting for the last couple of weeks have been ill-prepared, so that I have to do even more research than usual on each claim, slowing me down even more. This morning she spoke to her supervisor, and then came to me to let me know that they were bumping up my pay, due to the above facts, and the fact that my quality is excellent because I actually take the time to do the claims properly. I had only asked for special consideration for the pay period just finished, but this is to be a permanent arrangement, something they have been talking about for some time (but I thought it would never happen). It just goes to show you--the Bible is right, you have not because you ask not. Or ask and you shall receive, whichever you prefer. :^)
